PastorRev. Thomas Hall

Pastor Thomas Hall begins his tenure as our lead pastor this July. He has been serving in full-time pastoral ministry since June 2000. He is passionate about making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and equipping the body of Christ to do the same.

Thomas and his wife, Rev. Melissa-Kime-Hall, are lifelong residents of Georgia. Pastor Melissa serves as the Associate Pastor at Covington First UMC. Pastor Thomas first sensed the call to pastoral ministry as a youth at Midway UMC in Douglasville. With the nudge of his pastor at Woodbury UMC he answered God’s call and began pastoral ministry as a second career many years later.

Thomas graduated with a B.S. in Communication Arts in 1989 from Georgia Southern University. He began seminary and was licensed to serve as a full-time local pastor in 2000. He later graduated with a M.Div. from Erskine Theological Seminary. He was commissioned as an Elder in 2006 and was ordained in 2009.

Through the years Thomas has served in numerous capacities at the Conference and District levels. Some of his greatest joys have come while serving as a mentor to persons discerning God’s call to ministry. He currently serves congregations in the North Georgia Conference as a certified SAS coach. He also serves on the District Union (formerly District Trustees) for the Central South District.

Thomas is United Methodist out of conviction. You’ll have to ask him to tell his story to you. In particular, he is passionate about the United Methodist Church’s theology of grace. He welcomes everyone to the table so that all may have opportunity to receive the grace God freely gives. Believing the Church in the world is being distracted by many self-serving cares and schisms, Thomas often calls the Church back to Christ and back to its mission. He longs to see the prayer of Jesus answered as the Church embraces the ministry of reconciliation as ambassadors of Jesus Christ.

Thomas feels immensely blessed by the opportunity to serve with the people of Crossroads UMC as we work together to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the City of Conyers, Rockdale County, and the world.
